Nebraska has passed a law requiring certain health plans to cover physician-recommended treatment for PANS and PANDAS beginning January 1, 2027. The victory was driven by families who brought their experiences directly to state lawmakers.

After 14 years of advocacy, Connecticut families have secured insurance coverage for medically necessary PANS and PANDAS treatment. Their victory offers hope as West Virginia families work toward the same support.

House Bill 5004 would require the West Virginia Bureau for Public Health to expand education efforts on PANS and PANDAS to help providers identify symptoms earlier.
